    Retreat Daily practices
    Yoga and Mindfullness

    7 am Morning class 1.5 hr
    Class starts with a mindfulness meditation. Warm ups include joint rotations and standing practices. We do a flowing form of salute to the sun (satyananda style) with variations given. Other classical postures include warrior poses and balance poses. We continue with mat work including core strength. Asana can be modified to suit each persons' comfort level.

    A pranayama (breathing practice) is taught followed by meditation
    (sit on floor or chairs)

    11 am Daily Yoga Nidra 30min
    Before lunch. Deep guided relaxation sessions lying down. We will balance energy through meditation and self-enquiry. Evidence shows these practices affect the brain and cells of the body to create a healthy internal environment bringing peace of mind and a myriad of health benefits for your whole being.

    4 pm Feldenkrais 1hr These afternoon sessions improve body awareness and ease of movement. Feldenkrais helps break down unhealthy habitual patterns to allow for new patterns of thinking, moving and feeling to emerge. Subtle movements usually lying down

    An optional free afternoon to schedule a further activity of your choice. eg rice paddy walk or visit to a local healer

    The Physioyoga Retreat facilitators
    Rebecca Fagan; a registered and experienced musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, Yoga and Meditation Teacher. Rebecca has also trained in group work facilitation with the Group Work Institute of Australia and is training in Gestalt counselling. Rebecca loves meditation and chanting and introducing the benefits of yoga to people with varying levels of physical ability.
    Rebecca has been studying and practising yoga for 25 years, initially training in the holistic approach of Satyananda yoga, Iyengar and classical Hatha yoga. She values incorporating yoga into daily life including mindfulness, meditation, yoga nidra, and asana.

    Heidi Gunes is also an experienced musculosketetal physiotherapist and Feldenkrais method facilitator. Sessions of Feldenkrais will be conducted to further explore relaxation and body movement with Heidi.
