There are two separate modules which can be taken individually.
Who is this course suitable for?
1. Health practitioners to incorporate into therapeutic treatment programs with individuals and groups. You do not need to be a registered yoga teacher. Experience of yoga is recommended. for example Physiotherapists, Social workers, Psychologists, etc. If you are not sure if you qualify please contact us to discuss.
2. Yoga Teachers to upgrade teacher levels and for continuing professional development.
3. Teachers and other relevant professionals interested in learning to facilitate relaxation, stress management and mindfulness techniques into their scope of practice.
MODULE 1
Yoga for common musculoskeletal conditions
100 hrs Online
What will the training cover?
Experiential physioyoga practical classes and workshops based on hatha Yoga themes with clinical reasoning. Yoga and myofascial meridians. Explore posture variations and the use of yoga props for back pain, arthritis, neck, shoulder, thoracic and balance
Gentle and restorative level yoga with progressions. More details in tab above.
Course can be taken fully online or
Or partially in a retreat setting when this option next becomes available.
MODULE 2.
Restorative Yoga Nidra Method and Mindfulness facilitation Certification.
50 hrs Online
What will the training cover?
Theory and practical online and self directed. Yoga Nidra involves several stages including progressive deep relaxation, breathing, visualisation, affirmation and witnessing.
- Introduction to Yoga for mental health; anxiety, depression.
- Trauma informed yoga practice.
- Pain transformation
- Mindfulness and meditation techniques
- Breathing exercises.
- A comprehensive learning portal with the modules, research evidence base and resources.
