Certificate of Yoga for Common Musculoskeletal Conditions (20 hours)

Certificate of Restorative Yoga Nidra relaxation (16 hours)

Yoga postures for common musculoskeletal conditions.

Experiential gentle and therapeutic physioyoga practical classes and workshops based on hatha Yoga themes with clinical reasoning and case studies.

Explore posture variations and the use of yoga props for back pain, arthritis, neck, shoulder and thoracic and balance at a gentle and restorative level.

Learn about how yoga works with myofascial meridians.

Restorative “Yoga Nidra” Relaxation certification

Theory and daily restorative yoga nidra practice. This practice involves finding a comfortable position, usually lying down, and listening to a deep progressive relaxation with mindfulness. An evidence based approach with applications for pain, stress and anxiety by calming and renewing the nervous system. Gain the skills to confidently teach others.

Yoga considerations for mental health;

We look at yoga approaches to assist clients with stress, anxiety, depression and trauma. Learn practices and approaches applicable for different conditions.

Mindfulness, meditation techniques and breathing exercises.

Each day will start with a group yoga exercise class including short meditations and mindfulness techniques which we practice throughout the program. We learn breathing techniques to calm and to invigorate. Breathing can be incorporated with movements or as stand alone practices. This course draws on gems of wisdom from many yoga traditions, particularly Hatha and Raja yoga.

The training program includes practical classes, lectures, mirco skills and group work plus a comprehensive manual including review of the evidence base.

The Physioyoga training facilitators

Rebecca Fagan; With 25 years Physiotherapy experience, Rebecca has been developing individual and group treatment programs integrating yoga for clients from ages 9 to 90!. She has worked in acute hospitals, rehabilitation, community health, and for the past 15 years in private practice musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.  She incorporates yoga and meditation techniques where appropriate to help clients enhance their health and wellbeing.

Rebecca has run Yoga Retreats in Bali since 2013, She is a senior level 3 Yoga Teacher with Yoga Australia with 10 + years teaching experience and has been studying and practising yoga since being a Uni student. She initially trained in Hatha yoga (with further experience in styles such as Iyenga and Yin Yoga). Meditation and Yoga Nidra are particular favourite practices. Group work facilitation skills inform the training process. She is inspired by the rich benefits of yoga in her own and her client’s lives and loves to share these skills and knowledge with other Health practitioners..
